News & Updates

2010-04-08 - Login quiets datacenter
Login has updated its datacenter cooling systems to be quieter and more efficient. Tucson's only carrier-neutral carrier-grade datacenter now features whisper-quiet air movement. This makes a more relaxing environment for users and servers.

Users who have a 1/3 rack or a full rack can take advantage of the whisper-quiet environment 24x7 for anything from replacing a server to doing physical backups. Servers can enjoy the crisp cool air and the dust-free environment.

Login provides access to all of Tucson's fiber carriers, as well as three upstream Internet links, five-factor biometrics-included access, and carrier grade online UPS (always on), raised floor, and lockable equipment racks.

2010-04-02 - Login profiled on front page of Inside Tucson Business
Outshining the competition is something we do everyday, either through delivering business-grade always-up Internet or having the only carrier-grade carrier-neutral datacenter in Southern Arizona. However, being profiled for it in Tucson's preeminent business magazine is a kudo we had to share.

Inside Tucson business profiled Login, our business, our contract to provide Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) 800Mbps -- more Internet bandwidth than all our competitors put together -- on their front page. http://www.azbiz.com/articles/2010/04/02/news/doc4bb623d13cddd365431757.txt

At Login we enjoy serving our community, and we don't mind a little recognition! Thanks TUSD for selecting us, and thanks Inside Tucson Business for recognizing it!

2010-03-23 - Login announces another banner quarter
Login is excited to announce another banner quarter. The months of January, February, and March 2010 have provided Login stellar growth, income, and new highlights like signing the Tucson Unified School District and seven other large businesses.

Login's carrier-neutral carrier-quality datacenter is the only one in Southern Arizona that continues to attract new customers. While the economy suffers and smaller players continue to lay off employees, "downsize" their business and "focus on key goals" Login continues to expand, now reaching out to the Phoenix market.

Wherever quality VoIP (Voice Over IP) and carrier-quality colocation are needed, Login leads the way with 100% uptime, a real service-level agreement (SLA), a full online UPS, and the technical expertise to back it up. Login is excited about the prospects, and hopes to continue this trend.

Other players may be dropping out of the game, but Login is excited about moving forward, expanding its reach, and leveraging its success in new markets.

2010-03-18 - Login upgrades multi-path redundancy
Login, Tucson's only carrier-neutral carrier-class datacenter announces today upgrade multi-path redundancy allowing customers' equipment to remain online even in the event of equipment failure.

Login has added a third redundant switch, fully meshed and offering the ability for customers with two or more NICs to connect to up to three separate switches with paths to up to three separate providers through up to two separate core network routers.

Login already offers a full-online UPS, commercial-grade HVAC, raised floor, and the only technical team in southern Arizona to offer 99.999% SLA.

2010-02-17 - Login to provide Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) more bandwidth than ever before!
Login has been awarded the contract to provide the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) 800Mbps (eight-hundred megabits per second) of Internet bandwidth.

This represents a crowning achievement for Login, as this ten-year old firm has now sold the largest open contract for bandwidth --ever-- in Southern Arizona.

To put it in perspective, 800Mbps is more than the University of Arizona, the City of Tucson, and Pima County have combined. It's more than all the other Tucson ISPs have combined. It's enough bandwidth to copy a GigaByte in a mere 10 seconds!

Login will deliver the bandwidth over its leased reliable and redundant fiber-optic network -- the fastest of any ISP in the Tucson area -- to provide TUSD the reliable, redundant, and bandwidth-rich connection it has requested.

Login is excited at the opportunity to give back to the community through Government/Community-Friendly pricing. All tax-supported institutions are able to apply for this pricing which gives top-quality service of top-tier products and services without taking from the taxpayers and putting it in the pockets of the fat-cats.

Login provides extremely high-speed Internet service (faster than all the "high-speed Internet" services being sold by other ISPs), dedicated Internet (Voice Over IP) phone systems, consulting, configuration, and IT support. Login's VoIP services power phones and Internet at over 100 restaurants, clinics, doctors' offices, technical facilities, manufacturing plants, advertising agencies, retail stores, and service providers.

2009-07-08 - Keep your unique identity
Login VoIP allows your calls to identify as coming from your business, your name, your mark.

Login can provide white-page and yellow-page listing. These will use your business name, not ours.

And finally, login does E911 the right way -- your address is immediately available to the emergency services when you call 911.

What does all this cost? You have to throw out those second-rate "resellers" that brand other people's products. You have to go with the all-uptime brand-yourself-with-your-brand use-your-own-CallerID-provider.

2009-06-16 - Login Tucson Colocation Datacenter offers only online UPS
Business know that to keep things running during power glitches and monsoon season an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) is vital. Some datacenters require you to bring your own, maintain batteries, replace them every year, and perform constant tests.

At Login our facility is protected by a 100% online full-time UPS. There is no "switching delay" when the power is out, and there is no potential problem with the modern "switching power supplies" used in commodity servers.

Login's UPS provides more than half an hour of battery-driven power, long enough for Login's generator to come to full song and deliver a replacement to utility power. Login's UPS and its batteries are maintained and tested to ensure that they are ready to take on the load.

When looking for a carrier-neutral colocation datacenter in Tucson, Arizona, add "online UPS" to your criteria.

- Online UPS

2009-06-11 - The Advantages of a Raised Floor
Login, Tucson's Premiere Datacenter and Tucson's only Carrier-Neutral Colocation Facility is often asked why we're the only ones in town to have a raised floor.

People who come from the large corporate datacenters or the government or eduational world already know this -- forced air through under-floor plenums create the most efficient way of cooling.

Placing the electric infrastructure, the cabling, and the fiber-optic conduits under the floor prevents them from being in harm's way.

From an electric standpoint, there's no difference between a wire carefully labeled, tied down in racks under the floor, entering into an enclosed full cabinet through a conduit, and one hanging from a ladder rack, stringing its way into a open rack in mid-air. The difference is in the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the cables are immune to being bumped, jostled, nudged, pulled, leaned on, ripped, or waving in the wind.

When selecting a datacenter in which to place your mission-critical servers make sure you select one where the infrastructure isn't likely to be brushed aside by another customer trying to get to their server.

2009-05-27 - 10Gbps ports available at Login Colocation Tucson Facility
Login, Tucson's only carrier-neutral colocation datacenter facility is also the first to offer 10Gbps ports.

Colocation for 10Gbps requires a minimum of one cabinet with 24x7 independent secure access, a multi-year contract commitment, and background checks for all anyone authorized to access the facility.

Raised floors, N+1 HVAC, N+1 power with a full online UPS make Login's facility the best choice for Tucson Colocation for serious business consumers.

2009-02-22 - Tucson's Only N+1 Datacenter for Colocation
Tucson Colocation Datacenter offers advantages.

Login is the only Tucson Datacenter with raised-floors, forced-cooling HVACs, carrier-grade enclosed data-racks, and a 100% online MGE UPS.

Colocating with Login means your equipment will be attended by professionals, powered with no fluctuations, and cooled by datacenter gear that's redundant and online.

No other datacenter in Southern Arizona can do that.

Finally, our front office is staffed by professionals who know customer service and customer record management. This advantage allows us to offer the best experience like none other in Southern Arizona. When making your choice, don't go for the "kids running the show" or the "public corporation pleasing its shareholders." For Tucson Datacenter Colocation come to the experts.

2009-02-19 - Login Record Preservation
There are news stories that proposed legislation would require Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to retain "user" records for two years.

Login's Tucson Colocation Datacenter allows customers to place their own servers, but Login does not do any content filtering whatsoever. In that respect Login is not a simple ISP like other companies that sell dialup and other lower-tier products. Login provides enterprise-grade carrier-class datacenter colocation in Tucson Arizona.

Login retains corporate records and contracts, but has no "user" records, nor any "content" records, nor will Login be intercepting content in order to gain these records.

In simple words, come stay with us, and feel safe knowing that we don't break into your servers and police your data. We leave the policing to the police.

2009-01-18 - Login supports legal due process
There are news stories circulating about companies offering incentives to ISPs to provide information about their customers.

One such example is http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=09/01/17/1418204

Login's Tucson colocation datacenter offers complete compliance with law enforcement, but does not release information to private parties.

Law enforcement personnel who wish to get a legal search warrant pursuant to the 4th amendment to the United States Constitution may serve it upon any Login officer, or contact us to provide waiver of service.

Third parties who wish to "Pay us" (bribe us?) to give customer information should reconsider.

2008-12-19 - Login Statement Clarifying Effect of RIAA Deciding to Pursue ISPs
The RIAA has announced today that they will no longer be suing individual file-sharers but instead go after ISPs to help them. Login's customers have asked us what that means to them. This statement is meant to clarify Login's position.

Login obeys the law. That means we will respond to any order from a Court of Competent Authority. If we have no issues with said court order, we will act accordingly. If we disagree with it, we will ask our legal team to seek to overturn, quash, or amend that order. At all times our focus is on protecting ourselves and you from overzealous rock-turning witchhunts.

RIAA - take note. A Court order isn't an email signed by your electronic email machinery. It is an order from a Court. Please don't lecture us on the DMCA, we've read it. Please don't tell us we've given up our safe harbor. We had it long before the DMCA and we'll have it whether we comply with your requests or not (we won't -- go get a court order).

Final note: Login vigorously defends its right to offer its users unfiltered and unfettered Internet Connectivity and Colocation in our Tucson Datacenter without restrictions created by arbitrary (and useless ) third parties. If forced to go to court, then go to court we shall. If sued, we WILL file a response, and we will NOT stipulate to a dismissal. It will cost anyone who tries to net money from our insurance company a loss in court, a precedent decision against them, and our attorneys' fees.

2008-11-14 - Login goes GREEN!
Participating in datacenter (or data-center) workforce efforts throughout the country, Login is now going green.

Login pledges that we will not ever deliver ONE strand of fiber on which to give bits and then leave them on the floor. No longer will we deliver ONE copper wire on which to give bits and then leave them on the floor.

Login will deliver TWO strands of fiber or TWO pairs of copper and we will take all discarded bits from the datacenter to every customer and recondition them. When we send customers "1" bits, and they give us back "0" bits we will recycle them. When we send "0" bits and get back "1" bits to discard, we'll do just that. Finally, in the true spirit of "don't use what you don't need" if we send ones or zeros that aren't needed, we'll accept them back -- undamaged, of course -- for full recycling.

Login is Tucson's only true Carrier Neutral Data Center with Green bit-replacement already in place.
