Login’s Tucson Datacenter

Login owns and operates their own carrier class, carrier neutral colocation facility located conveniently in central Tucson near Speedway and Alvernon. This document outlines the general specifications most commonly sought by Login’s scrutinizing clients.

Internet Connectivity

Carrier neutral facility so internet access may be obtained from any carrier willing to offer it
Login’s blend of internet access consists of full routes from Qwest via a gigabit port and Limelight Networks, a premier content distribution network that has outstanding connectivity domestically as well as to large Asian and European interconnection points. Total lit upstream connectivity is currently over 1.6Gbps with peak usage between 400-500Mbps. Login does not employ an oversell model with regards to internet connectivity.

Power

Power is delivered to each row of cabinets via a power bus system. Power is then delivered to each cabinet via 3 phase APC PDU units with a 16 amp limit per phase, 48 amps maximum per cabinet. PDUs are snmp monitored by the Login NOC and also have an LED display on the device to report phase load visually.

Login supplies conditioned battery backup power to all clients via a 350kVA online UPS system. Current runtime is in excess of 30 minutes while typically under 30 seconds is required to carry the load over to the generator.

UPS1

For extended power outages, Login employs a 625Kva Cummins diesel generator.

Login visually inspects and fires the generator weekly. Full load is thrown to the generator monthly. Service on the generator is done as needed and routine service is performed quarterly by Cummins Rocky Mountain.

Fuel service is provided by a local fuel delivery firm.

The fuel tank is sized to provide for a minimum of 24 hours of runtime.

Juniper Cisco
Core Network

Divided into two sides tied into to two separate meshed Cisco catalyst switches
Twin Juniper M20s with dual processor and dual power. Login stocks a spare M20 chassis as well as spare cards to be used in the event of a significant failure. Login also continues to renew a replacement and support contract with Juniper Networks.

Cooling

27 tons of cooling is currently required to keep the 2500 square foot facility at a constant 72F
3 x 27 ton APC-Airflow dual compressor downflow units are used to charge the plenum under the raised floor to effectively cool the entire facility. While one unit would suffice, Login expects the need to grow into the second unit in the short term so in order to maintain N+1 redundancy, Login positioned three units from the onset with plans to add a fourth if needed in the future.
Login has a licensed HVAC technician and engineer on staff to keep a close eye on the HVAC needs.

Convenience

For convenience of the technicians who work in the datacenter, Login has two “crash carts” with a LCD monitor, keyboard and mouse.
